Summary: On November 6, 2018, voters approved Measure AA, a parcel tax renewal measure for the previous Measure A parcel tax for the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD). Measure AA will continue existing, voter-approved funding first established in 1989. Measure AA will continue to fund programs that are underfunded by the state to ensure TTUSD students are provided with a well-rounded, high-quality education that includes science, art, technology, physical education, honors, and advanced placement classes, as well as job and college preparation. Measure AA will levy $148 per parcel for properties located within the District boundaries and generate approximately $5.6 million per year for school programs. The Measure AA cycle will last nine years.

As part of the ballot language for Measure AA, a Citizens Oversight Committee (COC) is to be formed to monitor the expenditures of Measure AA and ensure they are spent on the purposes set forth to voters. The first step to forming a Citizens Oversight Committee is to establish bylaws for the COC. The attached Bylaws of the Measure AA COC outline the structure, membership, responsibilities and requirements of the COC. These bylaws also provide operating guidance for the COC and identify committee job descriptions and appointees. The proposed bylaws for Measure AA were derived from the former Measure A Citizens Review Committee bylaws.
