Summary: An important aspect of governing the school district is to engage the stakeholders of the schools in conversation. These conversations or dialogue help to better understand how well our schools are doing in preparing our students for college and career. The primary stakeholders of our schools are our students. Members of the Board of Education and the Superintendent Chief Learning Officer have made visits to the student leadership classes at North Tahoe High School and Tahoe Truckee High School in order to hear the students’ perspective on their educational experience. In order to gain a broader representation of student voice, a panel of students will prepare and respond to questions during the board study session. Truckee High School ASB President Tessa Vanderberg and North Tahoe High School ASB President Dalton Lamberth will moderate a panel of students representing all high school programs in our district. The responses to a wide variety of questions will help the governance team continue to implement the vision of education and develop associated policies.
